The Data and Decision Management Tool

The Data and Decision Management Tool (DDMT) was designed and developed by RMRI to facilitate the construction, presentation and communication of event trees used in Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA).

The Risk Profile for a large scale asset such as an offshore facility, chemical plant or ship is presented in an accessible format, and fundamental decision-making facilities are also included.

Communication

The DDMT allows easy reference to information on the provenance of all key input data.  It therefore provides a clear audit trail as well as facilitating improved understanding and communication of the basis of the assessment.

Improved Decision-Making

Since the Risk Profile can be easily updated as new information becomes available, the DDMT acts as a through-life record of the asset.  It also ensures that the best information is available for use in ongoing decision-making, enabling more appropriate, cost-effective asset management decisions to be taken.
