The Data and Decision Management Tool
The Data and Decision Management Tool (DDMT) is a ‘desktop’ software tool, designed and developed by RMRI to facilitate the construction, presentation and communication of event trees used in Quantified Risk Assessment (QRA).
The Risk Profile (that is, record of detrimental events associated with an asset, along with the estimated frequency and consequences) for a large scale asset such as an offshore facility, chemical plant or ship is presented in an accessible format, and fundamental decision-making facilities are included.
Communication
The DDMT allows easy reference to information on the provenance of all key input data, and therefore provides a clear audit trail as well as facilitating improved understanding and communication of the basis of the assessment.
Improved Decision-Making
By facilitating updating of the Risk Profile as new information becomes available, the DDMT also acts as a through-life record of the asset, as well as ensuring that the best information is used in ongoing decision-making. This enables more appropriate, cost-effective asset management decisions to be taken.
