The Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) has published the CCUS Investor Roadmap: Capturing Carbon and a Global Opportunity. Future key milestones for the 2035 Delivery Plan (to deliver a fully decarbonised power system) include:
• 2022 – Launch of the £240m Net Zero Hydrogen Fund (NZHF)
• 2022 – Announcement of the winners of the £70m Direct Air CCS (DACCS) and other engineered Greenhouse Gas Removals (GGRs) innovation programme
• 2022 – Publication of Transport and Storage (T&S), Industrial Carbon Capture (ICC) and power business model updates
• 2022 – Announcement of shortlisted CO2 emitters that will proceed to negotiations in Track-1, Phase-2 of the CCUS Cluster Sequencing process
• 2022 – Completion of design for the Hydrogen Business Model
• 2025 – At least one Power CCUS Plant by the mid-2020s
• 2025 – At least 2 CCUS clusters by the mid-2020s
• 2025 – Up to 1GW of CCUS-enabled Hydrogen
• 2030 – Four CCUS clusters by 2030
